I just bought an 07 fxdb and the previous owner has lots of chrome parts added that I want to convert to gloss black. Example being the horn, batter cover, fuse cover, even the tank console! Would my best option be to have the chrome parts powder coated or selling them outright and buying already coated parts?
I also have a wrinkle black primary and a chrome one installed.

 

I just sent the last of my chrome off to powder coating. For me, it was way cheaper to have the parts powder coated.

 

I have taken all my parts down to the Powder Pro. Great work and cost.

 

If you are good with the wrench, powder coating your parts is almost always cheaper than purchasing new parts already PC'd. Only thing that sucks, slightly, is your down time is longer because you are waiting for your parts to be coated, versus having new parts ready to swap out.
