thank you, I don't know how doing just the fins would turn out as the paint comes in a can to spray, not sure if there is anything out there that you apply to a small area like that but if you want to black out the motor id recommend the wrinkle black paint from the HD dealership I will work on getting closer up pics of the bike within the couple days so you guys can see how the paint looks after it has cured says it takes 24-48 hours to fully cure

So how did you lay on the paint? Was it in rattle can, air brush? What was the wrinkle black part # from Harley?

Sorry I did not see this post but I don't know the part number just goto your local HD dealership and ask for a can of wrinkle black and they have them in stock, i sprayed it out of a rattle can the and results came out pretty good I have a couple more pics that my buddy sent me as my bike is sittin in his garage ill upload them shortly

Well it looks like you had more work to do than just throw paint lol, if I had more to do than just throw paint I would have yanked my whole motor as well but that was not the case for me, your motor looks good man hope that VHT works out

heres the pics my buddy sent me, there is a few things I am going to take off the bike and have powdercoated my brothers ol lady works at a powder coat places so im gonna get hooked up

You just cost me another couple days worth of work haha. Did you prime it before you painted? Also what other prep work did you do? Thanks for the help

I'd like to paint the edge of the fins on my engine too. I'm trying to figure out how to do it without all the taping. Maybe a roller or a brush.
