Default Eastwood Hotcoat Powder Coating Gun/System

Hey guys. I want to get some stuff powder coated but no one does it nearby so I'd have to ship the stuff away. For the powder coat job and shipping costs I could just get the Eastwood PC gun and a sand blast setup...then, if it works well, my buddies could just bring their stuff over and have a good old time with the powder coating system.

Has anyone used the Eastwood system? Does it work well?

I bought an Eastwood powder coating kit a few months ago and have used it on a few parts. I'm sure there are better guns out there but this seems to be a good place to start. Has about everything you need and is easy to use.

as far as the hobby guns go that is a good one... remember powder work is more about prep than anything your blastina nd clean air set up will be much more important

Thanks guys!

I won't be doing my wheels with it but I think it would be a valuable tool to have for all the covers, etc. I want blacked out. I might just pick it up. And I agree about the prep work...if you lay carpet over a shitty floor you will have a shitty floor with carpet.

I tried it also but I used the harbor freight version which is a cheap copy. Worked well, I did a bunch of sprockets, levers and engine covers. Used it for almost 3 years and paid 65$ for it. Sold it at my garage sale for 75$ which included powder. All you need is an electric oven and yes you can wire a 220v oven to a 110v outlet, its just going to heat up slowly but maybe take 1 hour max to get to the 400 degrees you need.

i would highly recomend against the HF unit... you have so little adjustment of the atomizing with a hoby gun as it is... best finish from a hobby gun is the eastwood unit to be honest
