Powdercoat gas tank?

Powdercoat gas tank?
Was bs'ing with my boss the other day about bike crap and I made the comment that I was gonna have the very reputable powdercoater that we use powdercoat my fenders and tank instead of painting em (scratches and scuffs that are drivin me nuts). He said he thought there was lead in the seams of some tanks that made it impossible to powdercoat because it would melt the lead. He wasnt sure about this, just said to look into it first.
Has anyone powdercoated their tank or know anything about this? Any input would be great, thanx.

on flats of course we skip the last steps but here are some pics of some of our work
powdered the base coat
then airbrushed and clear

yup bout like that. Maybe an even darker shade though to complement chrome pipes, ac, mirrors, and the like. Don't really wanna go with the denim blue like the factory jobs everyones rockin though. Maybe the denim blue shade but in gloss???
Hard decision to make but its a problem im glad to have;}

Joe, is the "Kawasaki" a sticker or airbrushed also? Reason I ask is I had my tank powder coated, and then put the OEM sticker on. Now I want to put clear over the sticker to protect it from occassional gas spills, but cant figure out wheter I should use acrylic enamel or laquer clear coat.
