No, the powder on the risers actually grabs the knurled part better, but thats not the issue.
I had originally switched out the rubber tree bushing with poly ones and it got nice and tight and when you got on the bike and stood it up and turned the bars straight, the bars moved with the whole front end which its supossed to do. Now it seems like there is a little play when I turn the bars from the side resting position. Make sense. I think the powder is making the connection of the bolts and risers not as tight so they move a little. There is 0 side to side, or rotating of the bars in the riser clamp.

Also, I adjusted my ground and I can get the powder to stick much better when I clamp the ground wire to the hanger. I had it attached to a wire that had the hanger and the part on. Im gonna get a metal rod I think since its a larger surface area then the thin SS wire I hang on. These parts feel and look thicker than the pegs I did.

poly bushings are only good for about 2 years so they may be worn a bit, try going up in tq a bit and that should do it, yes powder is going to be slicker than bare metal but if your risers where chrome it is not more slick than chrome... i would think it may be the bushings themselves. An earth ground is the best if you can swing that, if not run your ground wire to the hook if you ever have issues with powder adherence, will help

Interesting. I didnt know that.
Ill probably wind up taking off the powder from the bottom of the riser with my air die grinder I picked up a few weeks ago. Im redoing the intake cover on my car since I messed it up using a orbital sander trying to get the embossed lettering bare metal again.

Joe,
How many uses do you get out of the B17?
I bought 1 gallon of rapid strip, but I need something more potent and that last longer. The rapid strip gets nasty real quick.
Ill be buying a 5 gal jug of the B17 if its what they say it is. (I need it for a set of rims.) Rapid strip is not supposed to etch the metal surface, I don't know about the B17.

I just ordered my 2nd batch of 30gal, 1st 30 lasted nearly 2yrs. I wouldn't say it lost any potency, but as less became available in my drum it made stripping larger parts more time consuming. Good stuff, just make sure you have a good respirator, I prefer one with face protection.
