I still like my original paint but I want more from it. I want the same paint but with metal flake over the top. Whats the best way to do it? Clear coat with flake and then another coat of clear?
I'm not aware of a way to add flake over paint. Ordinarily it is integral to the color coat or in the base coat with candy sprayed over. Either means needs to be clear-coated as the final coat.
Any good paint shop can re-paint the same color with flake.
Yes you can add some flake to your existing paint. Prep your existing paint properly, mix some flake with some clear and spray it, then top coat with several more coats of clear. The amount of final clear will depend on what size flake you used, the bigger the flake the more clear you'll need.
Do you really mean flake? There is also a metallic clear as well. Adds a lot of depth over a to a high metallic base. Layer it up if you like. Clear over that for even more depth.
