Default Wild 1 Chubbys Outlawz Powder Question

I got lucky and my pops hooked me up with some almost new wild 1 Chubbies 14 inch hangers. They are chrome, and Id like them to match my all black Forty Eight. Is there a right and wrong way to get these powdered? I had called a guy off craigslist that has a shop around my location, and he told me 60 bucks to powder them. He mentioned it would be a hard process to powder over the chrome. Pops mentioned that didnt make sense and the throttle could stick if he powdered over the chrome. Shouldnt you sandblast it first? I don't want the bars to be too thick to where the throttle sticks. Any help would be appreciated and tips on how to talk and describe what I need from a powder coating shop.

You will be fine. I have powder numerous sets of chrome bars. I typically tape off around the grip area. However I did a couple and shot the entire set of bars, no issues. Powder should only be a couple mils thick.

Thanks for the response!

I understand you did both powdering over the end of the bars and taping off. Was there any problems with peeling when you didn't powder the grip area?
