Default inner primary mainshaft spacer..

my 95 softail has developed an oil leak which i have traced to the main shaft oil seal, ive stripped the clutch ,inner primary and belt pulley but can't remove the bearing inner race from the mainshaft, there is no gap what so ever between the spacer and the output shaft so i cant use an extractor ......any suggestions...

When you cut it with the dremel, don`t cut all the way through...

Put a sharp chisel into the cut and tap with a hammer, it will crack and the bearing will be loose.

It sounds like that bearing walked up the mainshaft on ya unless you're talking about the big spacer that is behind the primary pulley and partially imbedded into the side of the tranny. The big spacer that's about 2 or 3" in diameter can just be pulled out of the oil seal with your fingers. Ya may have to use a dry towel to get a grip on it. Once it's out, you can get something into the oil seal to pull it out. If it is the small bearing race, about 1" in diameter, yeah, cutting it then tapping with chisel and hammer will get it.

There is a replacement bearing that is a combination seal and bearing that only fits into the inner primary that eliminates that bearing. I've had it in my 06 RG for about 6 months now and no problem with it.

The piece you make reference to is the inner primary bearing race. You can cut with a Dremel as suggested or you an back off the main shaft nut on the other side and "bump" the shaft out far enough to create the gap necessary to slip the puller in behind it. More work but if you don't want to Dremel, there is another way; your call.

I'm in the process of doing the same thing on my 2007 Street Glide. The race drifted on mine also, no room for a puller plate. Had to use the dremel cut off wheel to slot almost through, and a gentle whack with a chisel and it was loose. You have to use a 1 inch or so, diameter reinforced wheel, to have some room to maneuver in side the belt sprocket.
