Default 24t compensator sprocket

Looking into replacing my 25t compensator sprocket for a 24t. I found this part at J&P for around $40 which is a lot less than what harley is asking. Will this be a direct replacement?

Is this to fit your '05 FLHRI? If so that part says it won't fit, it's for earlier models of Evos. The reason it's cheap is because the correct part for your bike is more complex. You may have to buy H-D, or possibly Baker. Out of interest, what are you looking to do?

Looking to go to 3.37 gearing with the 24t compensator sprocket. From what info I have found it sounds like hd part 40269-85A was used on 99-01 Fi touring models with the MM system and will fit my bike. The JP description of the part above is a stock replacement for the 40269-85A. That leads me to believe it will work.

I was hoping to hear from someone who had experience with the JP part above. Fitment being most important but also quality of the part.

40269-85a is the correct number plus you have to change the clutch basket to get the 3:37 ratio. I'm getting ready to change my compensator sprocket to the 24 tooth also but not the clutch basket. This yields like a 3:26 ratio. I have the Baker Fat Shoe DD6-178 to take up the slack.

Ah I wrote down the wrong ratio. Lol. 3.26 is what I meant to post. I didn't intend on the clutch sprocket at this time. I think that 3.26 will be a good compromise to not be winded out on the highway.
However what I am saying is that the JP website indicates that 603-130 is the replacement of 40269-85A for $40

A 24 tooth will work but at stated earlier you will need our fat shoe dd6-178 or a similar one to take up the slack.
