I have a 2007 streetbob & recently my gear selector was slipping out. After getting the latter fastened on my ride this past weekend I noticed I wasn't picking up gears. From 1st it picked up but from 2nd it felt I was at least 2 gears up. Friend told me might be linkages in my gearbox could this be right coz I don't want to get my gearbox stripped only to be told it may not be the diagnosis.

 

I believe Bakerdrivetrin.com has a video on how to properly adjust the shifting drum Pawl, sounds like it might be our of adjustment.

 

On the 07 the shifter pawl is fixed there is no adjustment. Are you saying that you shift but it does not go into gear?
