Default 3" Primo Open Primary Leak

Hello all - I just got a 08 Road King Classic this year with a 3" Primo open primary. The primary/crank seal is leaking and the HD dealer I bought it from tried to fix it 2 times to no avail. They first claimed the belt was too tight so I sent the old one back to Primo and Primo sent me a new one but it still leaks. The leak is just a drip but I obviously want it fixed.

Primo also told me that the gasket should be installed backwards and that the dealer should know that.

I was pretty upset with the dealer since they couldn't fix it and then the GM of the dealership actually told me that I should take it to someone who specializes in Primo primaries...... That sent me through the roof...

Anyway, I was hoping someone could suggest a mechanic in the Pottsville, PA that may be able to fix it.

Default belt tension

According to Rivera Primo you should have no more than 3/4" belt flection total, up and down when measured at the middle of the belt. 1/4" is to right. I run a belt and my measurement is at 3/4 with some pretty good pressures If you go to there website www.riveraprimo.com they have installation instructions to aid you. If your belt falls within these specs you should be ok, and yes I have heard you need to invert the seal, but it doesn't make sense to me. Look at a crank seal on a small block Chevy if you put it in backwards will leak.???? I installed mine with the seal spring on the inside and have no problems to this day....... if you have time and tools and the know how, try it, the seal is very inexpensive....good luck.

Thanks Guys - I'll contact Hog works and see what they can do. I stopped by Billy's Custom Cycles in Bloomsburg, PA last week and Dave who works there said he could check it out for me at his house. Billy's doesn't do work there...
