Question Quality Clutch Hub Bearing

I'm about to upgrade my clutch and I went with the Barnett Scorpion.

Since I im in there I would like to install a new bearing and would like something stronger than/better.

What brand should I go with All *****, factory HD, or what????

The only bearing of that type that is a special on a Harley is the ABS wheel bearing, on ABS bikes. If you have access to yours and can read the numbers on it, or better still remove it, any bearing supplier should be able to supply a replacement. Alternatively buy from one of the sources you mention, but I personally would only do so if they mention the brand of the bearing they supply. IMHO there is no such thing as 'stronger' or 'better', all you can do is buy a well-known brand. You could ask Barnett for a recommendation?!

Just called Harley dealer and they want $90 for the bearing! On the bearing it says its made in Japan.

Not sure where the hell they come up with these prices(I can at least see if it was a US part)?

All ***** can be had for $25....not sure of the quality though or where exactly its made.

Tough one! Japanese bearings are fine, as are their bikes - the darned things last long enough! All ***** sounds a bit cheap to be honest. These are high speed bearings, so are a cut above the normal variety. Of those two choices I would go factory, unless you fancy waiting until you can identify the one already in your bike and calling on local bearing suppliers.

Default Japanese bearings

Recently I was looking to fab up a custom tensioner with high-speed precision roller bearings and most of the suppliers or manufacturers were from Japan. They do make good bearings. It's the Chinese I'd be cautious of.

Yah I'm trying to avoid the Chinese bearings and I'm thinking that All ***** might be Chinese, but damn the markup from Harley is nuts.

Nothing wrong with mine, but was going to change it while I'm in there, but looks like it will be staying in unless I see something bad when I press it out.

The process of separating the clutch hub and the outer shell puts a cross load on the bearing, it should be replaced.

The OEM clutch hub bearing is not known for premature failure.
