cant get past second gear after drop
My friend dropped his '14 sportster on the left side while going around a corner. It broke the shifter peg off and bent the handle bars. He rode it to my house the whole way in second gear after that. Once back at my house we could not get it past neutral. We could go easily back and forth from 1st to neutral, but could not get it in to second.
He left the bike at my house and we plan to look at it next weekend.
Any ideas or advise on what to look?
The clutch seems to work fine also

so im thinking if we take off the primary cover we can look at this linkage. Im pretty familar with the big twin lingage and tranny after yall helped me rebuild the tranny on my 06 dyna, but not that familiar with the sporty set up.
it looks like the linkage is all inside the primary, we looked through the chain inspection hole but could not see much

so we took it apart tonight and found that the shift shaft is slightley bent and that one shift pawl was missing a spring which we found in the bottom of the primary, right next to the passage to the tranny
also the pin that is fixed to the shifter shaft in between the pawls was bent and had a good dent in it. We could shift the tranny easily while holding eveything in place.
the nut in front of the rotor/sprocket was pretty dam tight and had a ton of red locktight.
