FYI,its not as much that the upgraded SE comp is a total piece of junk ,its the fact that it doesnt get near enough oil to it for proper oiling thats been the issue for yrs now and the plastic tray that comes with the new SE comp doesn't really cut it for additional oiling either.
But if you want to fix it for good chk this out from GMR Performance a firm that designed a neat system that properly oils HD's newer design SE comp .
Unless you get more oil to the comp on a twin cam motor to better lube it no matter what comp you have it will eventually / prematurely wear out , plain & simple without proper oiling.
But with that said a better built & designed SE or even new Baker comp when avail should last quite a lot longer then the weaker stock comp with all else being = even with inferior almost non existant oiling of the comp without a product like the compensaver.
BTW,I just ordered a compensaver to install with the new SE comp i have for my 09 FLHTCU.
The 1st link is the main info on the product (Compensaver) and 2nd link is where you can buy it which are both pasted below the initial info i posted from the mfg on their Compensaver & what it does .

What it is
The CompenSaver is an oil delivery system to prevent premature failure of the Harley Davidson compensator #42200064A on the Twin Cam engines produced starting in 2014. The compensator is retro fit-able from 2007 through 2013 model years. Cast in high quality steel.
What it doesThe CompenSaver redistributes lubrication to the working surfaces of the compensator that has been thrown out due to centrifugal forces. It supports and enhances the capillary action created by the Harley compensator by providing a generous oil supply to the interior of the assembly that otherwise is receiving an inadequate supply of oil to properly protect the spokes, cam and cam splines plus increases the oil supply to the oil intake at the end of the retainer providing a consistant oil flow to the sprocket bore and thrust areas.
What it prevents- Excessive wear of the contact surfaces
- Fretting
- The composite thrust washer reduces noise produced by the metal on metal roll thrust bearing
- greatly reduces damaging metal debris in primary assembly
- Unnecessary costly repairs

Compensator
Just took mine apart, it looks like the new primary cover with built-in oiler did it's job. The thrust bearing looks to b well lubricated. That didn't stop the spokes from flat spoting. It seems that the sprocket is to soft, no wear on the cam at all with 16K on it. That Baker unit looks to b the same design with better quality as all Baker stuff. $300 to repair the stock one and $600 for the Baker
