Default 2006 compensator torque

I'm installing a new compensator assembly on a 2006 Ultra. The service manual says to torque the nut to 75 ft/lbs then turn it another 45 to 50 degrees. When I torque it to 75 ft/lbs it's as tight as I can get it. I can't get anymore on it with all my weight. It seems to me that if its bottomed out tight there will be no room left for spring compression so it can compensate. My torque wrench is a good expensive one that is calibrated. Am I doing something wrong? Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Maybe you need to eat more and put on some more weight. J/K Sounds like it's tight.

Thanks guys. I just torqued it to 165 ft/lbs and called it good. Put it back together and so far all is well.
