2006 heritage softail compensator?
Question about my 2006 heritage softail, Last week took the bike out after adjusting the main drive belt. Belt was loose, and Ive been hearing a light weezing noise coming from that area, I thought the belt was actually rubbing on something due to being so loose.
After adjusting the drive belt I go for about 5 miles and hear a loud banging noise from belt/primary area. I check for loose stuff while on the side of the road and nothing. sounded like a ball peen hammer hitting metal about every 10-12 feet I moved the bike while running. No noise from engine when not in gear.
So I need some input on what this could be. I have a guess that it might be a bad compensator from what I read so far. 2006 softail doesnt seem to be a year that a compensator kit is sold for.
