Default Thick Red Tranny Fluid

Picked up a '97 FXDWG recently and during my fluid changes, noticed the transmission oil was a relatively thick reddish pink fluid. Very slow to drain, and clean, but very red in color.
Anybody know what transmission fluid type this way be. I replaced it with standard HD trains fluid.

Guessing here but sounds like redline shockproof heavy. Arguably one of if not the best stuff out there. Use what ya will but that is definitely top shelf stuff and it works too.

That would be my guess as well, and agree its a good product, but unless you saw it go in yourself, who knows what it may have been.

Probably Redline Shockproof. Did you notice a different odor while draining the old fluid? Redline definitely smells different than other lubes plus it's thicker than most others and drains slowly.

Well, it's most probably the Redline Shockproof product, however, without knowing, I replaced it with what I know.
Thanks all.

If it looks like a strawberry milkshake then it is Redline. I use it so far so good.

If it is that thick, how does it get into all the bearing surfaces?
