Default clutch question

Should the clutch disengage when the bike is off the same as when it is running? When off and I put it in gear the clutch dont disengage as when running. It works fine when the bike is running, but not the same when off like it isnt disengaged.

There isn't much separation between the plates, less than .005(iirc), when you pull in the lever. So the oil film between the plates still drags, you won't notice is when the engine is running but you will sure notice it when its not running.

thanks, I just adjusted mine per the service manual being unfamiliar with the wet clutch system I wasnt sure. When I bought the bike at the dealer when I put it in first I noticed a slight lurch, the salesman said that was normal...but I know how salesmen are also so I took that with a grain of salt,. .the bike is doing great I just feel it is weird that when thee engine is off the clutch feels like it drags when in gear and the clutch disengaged, and it seems worse after this adjustment.....but it works as it should when running, I probably worry too much.
