I have a 2007 Dyna low rider with 2000 miles I bought the bike used off a guy and when I pulled the primary off the starter gear was chewed up and the starter ring gear was missing two teeth so after it grinding when starting a few times I had a local bike shop replace the starter ring gear and starter gear ....now it seems the bike will only turn over quickly if I hit the starter when it's still pumping fuel and once the bike starts it sounds like it grinds alittle as the starter disengages ...I'm going to pull the primary off tomorrow and see what is going on but I just replaced the battery and cleaned the plugs and ran stabil through the gas the bike runs great just sounds weird when starting now ! Any body else have this problems ?! Oh yeah all grounds are good as well .

 

Was the starter clutch replaced too?

 

Can you post a video with sound. It would be a nice aide in diagnosing...
