Default Transmission 4 Speed

Just pick up a '85 softail heritage with a four speed kicker transmission. Started puking trany fluid, looking to drain the fluid and begin digging in. Several questions. First can't locate a drain plug? SM states drain plug bottom right side between the struts. I see nothing. Motorcycle on a stand, I've used mirrors, cameras everything I can think of? I'm must be blind, can it be possible there is no drain plug. Second question, the previous owner had little info on this bike, Evo was allegedly rebuilt 10k ago, but I'm looking for information on the trans to order new seals and gaskets. Found a stamp BX9135, any ideas on what that indicates?

So I'm looking to learn if there is much difference between the 4 speeds over the years. I'm struggling to find a gasket/seal kit that is specific to this four '85 speed transmission? Will any kit work?

That 4 speed is what is known as a "turtle top" and they were used from 1980-86. The drain plug can be accessed from the right hand side on the bottom in the center of the case right next to the frame rail.

You can look at the parts in your bike on line here, which may help solve some of your challenges!
