Default Primary oh oh!

Well did the first oil changes in all three holes on my 2015 Ultra. Upon removing the primary oil drain plug I found a piece of metal or two and lots of filings. I have posted pics so you can look and tell me if I should be worried and run to the dealer for warranty repair.
Thanks for looking.

Holy **** that's not good!! Don't you have to take the bike to a dealer or Indy shop for the first service? To not void warranty?

I would like to know if perhaps this is NOT uncommon at the first change after break-in and most people don't know because they DO take it to the dealer for the first one. I don't think you have to take it to the dealer for the first one but would recommend doing all of the service and not just the three fluid changes. Especially checking the torque on the fasteners etc....

I would show the pictures to the dealer though to be sure.........although they may say yes that is normal anyhow.

I would drive it for 2K miles and do another fluid change and see then how much filings you get then. Be sure to listen for odd and/or changing sounds for w while.

I would already be headed for the dealer. That is not normal.

Those look like needles from the cam bearings. I would call the dealer and have them come and trailer the bike in.
I had a inner cam bearing go bad and ended replacing the entire engine at my cost because of shrapnel all over the engine.

Not good, not normal and also not cam bearing debris. You can't ruin your engine or transmission with debris from your primary. They do not share the same oil.

That may be a piece of a pivot pin from the automatic chain adjuster or a roller out of the compensator bearing.

If it were mine I'd get it checked out. Otherwise I'd lay awake at night worrying about it. That's just me.
