Default comp. sprocket

im replacing comp. sprocket on 92 ultra,,,doing work for buddy,,,took off primary, only found a spocket only,,,no comp....comp. kit has extension, sprocket, slide sprocket, spring cap, 1 spacer and nut,,,after it is installed with all parts in place with nut hand tightened only,,,before torqueing I checked outer primary for cleareness,,,front of primary hits either nut or spring cap,,,what im wondering is, how much does the springs collapse if any after the 150-165lbs. of torque,,,will it draw it all up to make cleareness for outer primary.

Can't give you an actual figure but it will draw it in.

thanks Mark for responding,,i thought it would draw ,but not sure how much,,,if I don't use spacer at nut ,outer primary works,,,is spacer for diff. bikes..and does spacer have to be used at nut...lie I said ,without spacer at nut outer primary works,,,but sprocket has in and out play in it ,,I would say about an 1/8 inch...will it draw that much or do I need to add spacer behind extension against rotor,,,could throw out chain alignment..

Tighten it down and check the alignment, it's the only way you will know for sure if you will need spacers in order to achieve proper chain alignment.

hello Mark,,,,thanks again for the info..I got it together,,and no noise, they give us absolutely no room for clearance when primary chain is properly aligned between comp. and outer primary on EVO,s...that may be why I have read other post about guys saying they find the inside of there outer primary chewed up..Ive been a shovelhead guy for many years and have never had a prob. with outer primary....thanks again man...
