Primary chain auto tensioner - Replace?
Is it necessary to replace the tensioner on 06 and later twin cams? If so, at what mileage?

No, as they are not like the spring-loaded ones in earlier models.

Check it after 30k miles. If it has a DEEP groove (1/4") replace it.

I did replace it. Good thing. the chain was actually rubbing metal on the primary cases.
