My 1st one was a 1X3 piece of scrap oak trim. Then I used it for kindling so now I have one out of scrap 1/4" aluminum angle.

1" X 2" X 7-1/4" Ash, maple or oak works fine & can be found free in the scrap wood pile at Home Depot if you're lucky.
