Default Clutch plate replacement question

On most of the H-D clutches we dis-assemble, there are srping rings in the back and 1 of the friction plates has a larger diameter to compensate for the lost room to fit these rings in there One is flat and one is beveled. When you replace the friction and steel plates, do these 2 rings stay in the basket or are they replaced by an extra plate? Do after market sets of plates comes with this special plate that fits over those rings? I have a Deuce that the friction plates need to be replaced in. But I'm not sure if those 2 rings are reusued (or replaced for new ones) or if they are thrown out!
