Use it in mine. Just be sure its NOT the "energy conserving" type oil. The additive in that form of oil IS NOT good for the wet clutch.

I use it (MaxCycle) in my '08 UC and have had it in there for about 1000 miles now. So far, so good.

I've run the stuff in other bikes (wet clutch applications)...most liked it and one did not (clutch grabbed too much).

Hope that helps!

My question is if an engine basically works the same way, will it not benefit to use something better the regular oil?

Royal Purple is suppose to continuously protects because Synerlec® continuously adheres to metal parts — even after shutdown. The thin film of oil that remains after shutdown preserves parts and provides instant lubrication at start-up until a full fluid oil film can be established.

I goggled it and came up with this web address.

I don’t know if it is worth it but for the little cost I am going to use it.

Many of the modern "regular" motor oils contain "anti-wear" agents that have been known to cause clutch slippage in some wet-clutch applications.

For me, it's worth the couple extra dollars to use Royal Purple. Plus, where I get the stuff, the lady behind the desk is very nice looking...
