Default clutch adjustment

i had my 07 dyna serviced at 1000mi by the dealer. they adjusted my clutch with out me asking them.
when i got it back i noticed that i have to let the clutch lever out halfway before it engages. prior to the
service i could just begin to let out the lever and it would start to engage. do you think the dealer adjusted
it properly? was thinking about taking it back and have them re-do it. its my first bike and would appreciate
any feedback.

You will find that if the clutch is adjust to HD specs, it will begin to engage about halfway out. I like mine where if I move it about 1/2" it starts to engage. The reason for the HD adjustment is that it allows the clutch plates to separate farther and finding neutral and shifting to the next gear is easier. You can change dthe adjustment with the cable adjustment at the front of the bike, just back it out a bit (actually you are threading the adjuster in) to get it where you like it.

That tension is correct. You are just not used to it.

Since its also part of the 1k service, not sure anyone would ask. I just had mine done and at first it was a bit strange. Getting used to it now after a week.
