I have a 85 fxrs and want to put a belt primary on it but all the ones I see are for a 84 or 86... I know 84 is shovel head and mine is a evo but so is the 86. What is the difference to why there are none for mine?

 

From 79-86 Harleys came with either a 4 speed or a 5 speed. also Mid year 84-86 the 4 speed bikes had a wet clutch and a longer mainshaft.

 

FXR are all 5 speed, the same mainshaft was used from `85 through `89.
