Default Anyone using a 34 tooth drive pulley

Hi all,

I'm looking for input from anyone using a 34 tooth final drive pulley. I'm getting ready to install a 95" big bore with 203 camsin my 04 RK Custom. I've heard that using the 34 tooth is a cheap way to simulate a 6 speed.
Any input is greatly appreciated.

Default 34 t pulley

Been running a 34 on my 00 softy for years and love it. Drops rpm by about 200 in 5th. By calculator reving @3200 at 80 mph. Had to adjust the shock spring to max tension to stop belt from rubbing on starter shaft since rear is lowered, so she rides real hard. You will also need to recalibrate speedo. I used S&S recal kit.
Later may go back to 32t but with 27t motor drive sprocket in the primary. Found this at Eagle Motor Company. http://www.emcv2.com/accserv/acc-sprocket/sprocket.htm

No need for a 6 speed.

Any difference in around town performance? BTW, What motor/cam combo are you running? I'll be installing a 95BB w/ SE203 set up. Will I need to do anything to the FI system?
Thanks

I just had it installed on my 2002 Heritage. To me 75mph feels like 65mph. awesome I love it. Between my progressive adjustable rear shocks and the new gearing it feels like I have a new bike!

I've been running a 107" with stock gearing for several years and it's fine! I swapped the comp on my TC88 from 25T to 21T to wake the darned thing up.

By using a 34T you will raise the gearing 34/32 = 1.06, or by 6%, which is not much and won't compare with a 6 speed. You will loose a little on pulling away from a start, which your 95" should compensate for, and reduce revs by 6% at any given road speed. It's all simple arithmetic!
