Primary Overflow Leak

Primary Overflow Leak
I have built a Trike using a 2000 xl1200C and Mystery Designs IRS system.
the Bike had no leaks before the conversion.
within a few hundred miles, the primary started leaking from the overflow tube.
I drained, it, changed it, making sure the fluid came to just the bottom of the clutch basket, and the leak seamed to get better. but still leaked.
after doing some research, i again drained it,
Took all covers off and left the drain plug out, and put a blow dryer in the chain inspection hole for a while, thinking if there was any moisture in there, it would boil out causing the leak. after the new fluid was put in , it leaked, even less this time, but just enough to be annoying.
The fluid that leaks out is clean, and clear, so I do not think any engine oil is leaking into the primary.
I dont undertand how that leaks our, when the overlow tube is nearly 4 to 5 inches above the point of the fluid level.
any suggestions on keeping my pretty rear end clean and free of this leak ?
