Default 1989 Sportster ate the alternator rotor

Okay guys, need a hand here, bro in law has an 89 sportster 1200 that ate the rotor and ate the stator for that matter. Those years have the rotor attached to the clutch basket. Is there a retrofit to the newer style out there with the stainless insert, and can you replace just the rotor or do you have to buy the whole basket as an assembly. I cannot find numbers or suppliers for this, so I am askin for a hand in finding this assembly or if it can be replaced with just the rotor or does it have to have the new basket also as an assembly.

I did several of these jobs in the late 90's Had to replace the clutch hub shell ( with magnets) HD P/N 36791-84 J&P shows them for about 625.00 V-Twin also has this I got my replacements from HD The motor co. wised up in later years and put the stator/rotor up front like the BT's (1991 & up )

Thanks, found one with v-twin which has the whole assembly clutch basket with rotor, and the rotor has a stainless steel ring holding the magnets in place to prevent this in the future. The stator is included as well as the regulator. They are proud of that stuff, cost 550.00, nice really dumb design from years past, replace a rotor you have to do the clutch basket too. That ain't too bright.
