Default 07 RK compensator shot?

28000 miles, all stock except for IDS. Started clattering like hell couple days ago. Pulled the primary and made up a locking tool. Just checked and the comp bolt wasn't anywhere near 165 ft-lbs, probably more like 50. But it still takes very little to bottom it, like a little pressure with one hand 4-5" out on a breaker, that can't be right can it? There should be a torque spec that can be used to check the washers to see if they are shot by how much torque it takes to bottom it. I already ordered a SE comp. but want to wait to get it before I go further. Put on 9700 mi in August, glad it waited til I got back. Great forum, only have a couple posts but have spent many many hours reading. Thanks for any feedback.

Most of them will find the trash can, eventually. Once you compare the stock and SE comp, you'll see why.

Mine went out at 34,000 miles. It was wore out. Bottomed out when cranking sometimes.
I have put about 800 miles on the bike since the change and it has been all good. I am leaving for a 2,000 mile trip this after noon. So i get to check on all the changes I have made.
SE 255 cams
PCV with AT
SE compensator
K&N ac
So far I have been a happy camper but the real test starts later today.
I will be 2 up and loaded.

WTF. Pans and Shovels ran "for ever" on compensators. They never wore out. Now days they are worn out at 28,000 miles. Not very good progress on the MOCO . Me thinks.
