Default Street Bob 06 Clutch Grinding

I have just over 7K miles on my 06 Street bob. I have had the clutch bearing replaced at 5k Mi at now I have to return the bike for the same issue. How cronic is this problem? When the bike is in neutral u can hear a grinding noise, once you engage clutch and shift into gear the noise disappears. Very Worried !!!

Mine has exactly the same symptoms, on an 06 FXDB - anyone able to tell me where to look? Clutch basket - stator - IPB - , no noise when the clutch is pulled. Lots of noise when downshifted to a lower grea and coasting faster then the gear allows when the clutch is released. It just started quickly, not gragually getting worse. Could it just be a shaft nut loose? Thanks, Ed

Ed, Sounds like the inner primary bearing. Lots of posts on this.

The 06 dynas had a flaw in the design whereby the alignment dowels were not fitted.

Be careful how you reassemble the primary. Use the outer cover bolts packed out to help line things up.
