I assume you've got a softail and the answer is yes the drain plug is on the bottom between the shocks. It is a 1/4" allen or 5/8" socket.

Service manual.........service manual..........service manual.

Don't forget to torque it when you put it back on.

Good luck

Need to know what bike you have before this question can be answered.

Softail plug is between the shocks. Dyna and Touring is on the bottom of the pan. The plug is a 5/8" hex with a 1/4" Allen in the middle of it.

Regards,

Bill

service manual for a 2003 softail/heritage classic gives a diagramatic which only Mr. Harley could understand. However the techs at Brighton (Michigan) HD shop were kind enough to show me the location between the shock absorbers on the bottm. It also is off center so only a 6 inch ball allen 1/4" can do the job. Use a mirror also to look at it...

sorry, a 5/8 socket with a rachet with 3 inch extension will work just as good.
