Default SE Heavy Duty Compensator

Curious as to eveyone's opinion on the SE Heavy Duty Compensator of whether you have it, whether it helped with you particular issue and whether or not you believe it would help with a stage 1 FLHX that will have mild cams added to it, or not at all necessary. Thanks in advance...

How so soft 02, how so? I bought one too but have yet to install it. I've heard some say it was the best mod that they had ever done and a couple others say, it wasn't necessary. It appears to be a logical/rational fix, especially for your higher than average output HD's. I thought that it would be interesting to see what others experiences have been with the SE Compensator..

This is what HD says of it's compensator;
Harley® Screamin' Eagle Big Twin Compensator 40274-08

Part Number: 40274-08

This premium compensator has been engineered with heavier springs and increased travel to support the high-torque output associated with high compression race and large displacement engines. Designed to support up to 7 times the energy absorption capacity of the Original Equipment compensator, this unit helps protect the engine and driveline components during harsh drag race launches. The perfect addition to a complete performance upgrade, and complements the installation of the Screamin' Eagle Performance Clutch Hub P/N 37976-08. (Available September 2008)

Fits '07-later Twin Cam models.

Might be helpful if those answering will post what their issue was so we can get a picture of what changes would be brought about by installing it over stock.

My issue with the old one was that the spring basket exploded so in my logic I replaced it with the SE 40274-08 from zanutti's. Now no more bang on start up and no more heavy clunk when I shift And it was real jurkey on and off the throttle around town. It fixed all those issues and only cost me 209.00 and free shipping. I dont know about the SE clutch basket though. Mine is fine for now. 07 softail standard with 67,000 miles.
