Default Clutch Squealing - Help

I have a 1965 panhead chopper bike. It has an open primary. The problem is when I pull in the clutch cover, it makes an awful squealing noise. When the clutch is out and riding, there is no squeal. CLutch runs fine. Does anybody know what the issue could be. It is only when I have the clutch lever pulled in. Goes away when I I let it out. ANy help is appreciated.

Typical symptom of a bad throwout bearing.

Sounds as though you have a bearing going bad or frozen.

Any idea how to replace it. Can a novice mechanic do it. I usually like to do things myself but have not doen one of these yet.

It's not too difficult.Follow clutch cable to right side of bike.Take cover off.Inspect parts for any corrosion, scalding, etc.
