Default Primary Cover torque/bolt sizes

I must be blind but I can't find the instructions for installing the Primary Case Cover in my HD service manual. Different sections refer to other sections for those instructions but they all end up in a section that doesn't go that far in the process... stops at installing clutch and doesn't continue. I searched for the answer in previous posts but only found Scout's post which gave great detail but I wasn't sure it is the same for my bike.

So I'm trying to figure out what the torque settings for my '94 heritage. Joe said 8 ft/lbs. If you know what page their on in the manual, I'd love to know that as well. Also, what allen wrench size are the bolts and torque screws for the inspection cover?

Thanks for any help!

The bolt size should be a T27 for the cover and the torque specs should be on the first page of the manual for that section (usually 9-10 foot LBS). They list all the torque specs for each section in the beginning of that section and not in the text itself usually. There are exceptions in some sections.

I appreciate the info, guys!

Hmmm, I thought I looked at every word, every figure, every table. Disassembly is there, but the assembly section just says "See so-and-so section". So I go there and it says "See this-and-that section". I go there and another "see..." comment. The last one I get sent to doesn't even state it though. But I'll go look again, for the 10th time and see if your posts were key to opening my eyes,

I was... unless I got the names all wrong. The large chrome cover going from my shifter to rear wheel. Isn't that the Primary Chaincase Cover? (though I did shorten the name to Primary Case Cover)

Sorry to confuse y'all. :S

What I'm referring to is the cover that the Chain Inspection Cover and the Clutch Inspection Cover are bolted onto. Isn't that the Primary Chaincase Cover?

(sorry to be so confused)
