Cool Suicide Clutch

I'm working on a project to add a foot clutch to my Xbones. Now I'm fully aware of several different arangements where the clutch cable is carried over to the foot shifter and hooked up. I want to try something different. I'm looking at a mechanical linkage to get me from the pedal side to the clutch release side. What do you think? Am I crazy?

I figure to use the down tubes to attach a rotating rod (in bushings) to levers at each end. On the left a heim connection to the shift/clutch pedal, and a very short (8-10") clutch cable on the right side. Am I missing something?
