just installed a champion reverse gear in my 2011 ultra classic. can't put it in reverse without it grinding. has anybody hade this promblem.

 

Hi I own a Softail deuce/Frankenstein trike with a champion reverse transmission. Just lately it won't go in reverse it feels like it hits a stop when you depress the lever just before you would normally push it push
it backwards. There is no grinding!

I will refrain from saying anything bad about the competition all I will say is this one works and we back it with a warranty.

From N shift into 1st then back to neutral and engage R.If it has been properly installed it shouldn't grind (mine doesn't).If the problem still persists just give Champion a call,I'm sure they will stand behind their product like any reputable business,e.g. Baker.

 

Use care as the transmission can be in a forward and reverse gear at the same time when you let out the clutch.
