Does anyone make a special tool to check shaft end play on the bench? Rather than putting the tranny in, checking, pulling it out, shimming putting it back in blah blah blah.

As you can see it has been a few years ago since I posted anything about this topic. Well I am finally getting around to reassembling it. Since it has been so long I have forgotten how the clutch diaphragm spring goes in. The manual doesn't really show a good diagram of the clutch assembly. Does the diaphragm spring cup inward towards the transmission or outward away from the transmission. Please, I need help.
