Default Compensator

I have a 09 ultra. To date the starter has been rebuilt three times and replaced three times. Just had at the dealer again for starter problems and this time they said it was the compensator. My question is what is the function of the compensator and how does it work?

Sometimes a battery with more cranking amps or a better after market starter will resolve your starting problems. As far as the compensator, see link:http://www.ehow.com/how_8037208_diag...mpensator.html

Don't use that link for torque values as Harley has updated the torque on different years!!!

Are you running a high compression piston/head combination?
