Primary drain plug leaks

Default Primary drain plug leaks

Twin Cam, Can't get the primary drain plug to stop leaking, teflon tape doesn't seem to work anymore seeps overnight, any suggestions.

Have you replaced the o ring ?

A new plug has special seal compound already on the plug. It's recommended to replace the plug with each use ... I don't. I do the same as you and use Teflon tape. I found it takes 7 to 10 wraps to work, and be certain you wrap with the threads so as it tightens into the case it's not stripping the Teflon tape back off the plug.

Later models have O Rings, forgot to mention mine is a 2000.

The leak stopped after I sinched he in a bit, careful with the tapered plugs
