the clutch on my 97 wide Glide started having a mind of its own a few weeks ago. It would begin to slip and wouldnt engage enough to pull at one stop and at the next it would choke off due to the clutch not disengaging. looked and looked for solutions. i could adjust the clutch out and within a few pulls on the lever it was back to acting up. FINALLY i discovered that the spring plate in the middle of the clutch pack had failed. The brass rivets that hold it together had come loose and scattered their way through out my clutch basket. Ordering extra clutch plate kit for it today.
