Default 1985 flt clutch problems

got a 1985 flt, has about 47000 miles on it, last year clutch was dragging, took it to shop, replaced clutch , got about 50 miles on it and clutch would not disengage, took back to shop, clutch rod, bearing, shaft, everything was replaced(non hd)got about 800 miles and clutch needed constant adjusting every 10 or 15 miles, would not disengage, took back to shop, bought all new parts again harley parts this time, again got about 800 miles on it this time, doing same thing, any help is appreciated, got a guy wanting to buy for about 500 less than what i have in it and he says he will fix any and all problems but i still want info on what im missing in case deal falls through

Make sure the clutch and the cable are adjusted properly, if the cable is adjusted too tight it can fry the throwout bearing and the pushrod. Also look at the outer shell, sometimes the slots become burred and the plates can stick.

If the clutch drags more after the bike is ridden for a while, I would take the clutch apart and look for signs of warped plates. If they have gotten badly over heated, they usally have blue areas on them.,,

appreciate the response, clutch drags right away and needs adjusted, was ok for about 800 miles the last time, actually had it adjusted slightly loose because of thinking it was over tightened at some point
