Welcome to the Harley world. Valve train noise is a constant source of irritation and discussion on every H-D forum you can find. What is irritating to some is not to others. Suggest you post this on the Engine/Fuel/Intake/Exhaust section; you posted in the wrong spot. First question you will be asked is what lifters and pushrods?

S&S used adjustable pushrods and they can be noisy, get someone who KNOWS what they are doing to adjust the pushrods to proper spec. I done incorrectly it can cause serious engine damage.....

Or learn how to do it yourself so you don't have to rely on someone else for a very simple procedure.

It is correct that they need no adjustment, once they are set up correctly. Noises are difficult to diagnose over the internet! Call by a local indy, preferably an S&S expert, and ask him to **** an ear at it. It may be quick and easy to correct.
