70 tooth rear pulley softail slim
I'm looking to put a 70 tooth rear pulley on my 2013 softball slim. I know most are doing the 30t trans pulley but my belt adjustment is almost all the way back now and that would require a belt change. I know the 2000 to 2005 softail has the correct 1 1/8 belt width just not sure about mounting flange pattern. If offset is the issue I will use a spacer or have the flange milled down depending on which way it needs to go. Thanks for any help

will do
I will let you know. I'm gonna do a little more research this weekend. I was hoping Someone could tell me of the differences in the pulleys before I bought one to try and make work offset, flange pattern, etc. I really want to do this change if possible as most of my riding is at 70 mph and below which makes 6th gear almost useless.

I did that on my 2000 Roadglide, I went with a 2006 FLHX pulley, 70 tooth 11/8 wide, I had to turn down the hub on the pulley .200 where the pully mounts to the wheel hub to get the correct alignment.
I also put a 2007 swingarm in the bike, I'm now running a 150 tire back there, your application maybe different depending on the pully spacing.
Let me tell you this, do your self a favor and go with the OEM belt/Gates, I got less than a 1000 miles out of a BDL belt.

I have an '02 Deuce wheel in the '07 swingarm on my 1990 Glide, with 1 1/8" belt. The softail pulley has the same hole pattern as the touring range - for those date ranges.
As for badger's query I don't know if that remains the same for his later year bike. I am about to install current Brembo caliper and rotor on the same wheel and the rotor hole pattern is unchanged, so I suspect the pulley pattern remains the same as well.
I suspect you will need to change belt for a 70T pulley.

Fatter tire
Last summer I wanted more tire also for my 98, so I purchased a BDL 1" 70 tooth pulley with a gates Poly Chain belt 132 tooth and their 15/16" spacer. All I had to machine was the spacer to 13/16" and I ended up with perfect belt alignment and I still have 11/32" to my 150 tire. I think for the next tire I'm going to try a 160. If any one has questions about the integrity of the belt, DON"T.....I'm in the high 90's for tq/hp and no problems at all.
