Default 70 tooth rear pulley softail slim

I'm looking to put a 70 tooth rear pulley on my 2013 softball slim. I know most are doing the 30t trans pulley but my belt adjustment is almost all the way back now and that would require a belt change. I know the 2000 to 2005 softail has the correct 1 1/8 belt width just not sure about mounting flange pattern. If offset is the issue I will use a spacer or have the flange milled down depending on which way it needs to go. Thanks for any help

Default will do

I will let you know. I'm gonna do a little more research this weekend. I was hoping Someone could tell me of the differences in the pulleys before I bought one to try and make work offset, flange pattern, etc. I really want to do this change if possible as most of my riding is at 70 mph and below which makes 6th gear almost useless.

I did that on my 2000 Roadglide, I went with a 2006 FLHX pulley, 70 tooth 11/8 wide, I had to turn down the hub on the pulley .200 where the pully mounts to the wheel hub to get the correct alignment.
I also put a 2007 swingarm in the bike, I'm now running a 150 tire back there, your application maybe different depending on the pully spacing.
Let me tell you this, do your self a favor and go with the OEM belt/Gates, I got less than a 1000 miles out of a BDL belt.

I run a 140mm rear tire on an '02 FLHT with no modifications. Just curious but seems like with the hub machining and the wider swing arm, you could have managed a wider tire unless the fender became the limiting factor??

My main reason for changing out the swingarm, in 2000 the swingarm had integrity issues, some of them cracked across where the axle goes through. There was also a lot of flexing in the 2000 design of the swingarm that caused the bike to rear steer in long high speed sweepers.
Now its like it's on rails, super smooth through the twisties.

I have an '02 Deuce wheel in the '07 swingarm on my 1990 Glide, with 1 1/8" belt. The softail pulley has the same hole pattern as the touring range - for those date ranges.

As for badger's query I don't know if that remains the same for his later year bike. I am about to install current Brembo caliper and rotor on the same wheel and the rotor hole pattern is unchanged, so I suspect the pulley pattern remains the same as well.

I suspect you will need to change belt for a 70T pulley.

I have a 70 tooth pulley from an '02 Softail for sale if you'd like to try one. Make an offer.

Default Fatter tire

Last summer I wanted more tire also for my 98, so I purchased a BDL 1" 70 tooth pulley with a gates Poly Chain belt 132 tooth and their 15/16" spacer. All I had to machine was the spacer to 13/16" and I ended up with perfect belt alignment and I still have 11/32" to my 150 tire. I think for the next tire I'm going to try a 160. If any one has questions about the integrity of the belt, DON"T.....I'm in the high 90's for tq/hp and no problems at all.
