1985 flhtc primary & oil
Hi Guys
Its been awhile since I last changed the gasket and changed the oil in my primary casing.
Just need to refresh my old mind if you will guys.
Need help with these questions please.
1. What oil do you guys use in your primary & how much oil do you use.
2. Do you use any a little silicone on the gasket to stop leaks
3. What's the torque on the bolts and how do you cris-cross the tightening ?
Thanks guys 4 helping out this forgetful ol' fart

Some Say YES 2 Gasket Sealer Some Say NO !
Hey Mark@Baker Drivetrain
Thanks 4 your input Mark. I don't have a inch pd. torque wrench. What's the foot pounds on those bolts please ?
Where can I pick-up that Spectro Primary Fluid ?
As far as the Gasket Sealer on the other side of my new primary gasket. I don't see why I can't spread a thin layer of it between the engine casing and the gasket. The side that faces the primary cover has silicone or somekind of sealant on it.
As you said NO sealant on the gasket. However, that leaves one side that has no sealant and I would come to believe that is the side that would probably start leaking ?
More of your experiences please Mark.
