I'm replacing clutch plates. Got the tool to get the spring and pressure plate out. Ruined the retaining clip on disassembly. Got a new one at my hd dealership. How does the clip go back on? It's notched on the ends so my snap ring pliers don't work. "Chipped" a tab getting it out w/ a screwdriver. I'm thinking: needle-nose pliers + screwdriver= trashed clutch hub on reassembly. Any suggestions would be very fargen appreciated. I mean very fargen appreciated.

 

You my friend are dealing with the "holy grail". So you will need both Indiana Jones and Macguyver to get that one done. With the tab broken it will be a little tuff but they do make what is called "lock ring pliers " that will work better than needle nose.
