Shifting problem

Have a 1987 FLHTC - remove the transmission door and sent out to be chromed. Put cover back on the bike and the bike won't go into neutral. Any ideas or suggestions?

Do you mean the clutch release cover?
The side door is the bearing support for the shafts.

Make sure the clutch is adjusted properly, at the cable and at the clutch.
