Default Question about adding a extra spring plate to stock compensator.

question is, when adding a extra plate to stock comp, do you just add the extra plate face down with bevel in same direction on top of the spring pack or do you add it to the bottom continuing the alternating pattern of the beveled plates ?

Stock Plate ()()

A (()()

B ()()(

Are you referring to the Bellville springs in the '00-'06 compensators? The only way I have done it is B but I think A will work as well.

just an update on what i ended up doing in case anyone in the future has this question and comes across this thread..

i did complete the pattern "B" by adding the spring plate to the bottom. just adding the spring flat to the top did very little in increasing the distance of the hub to the shell , maybe a 1/8" , therfore not really increasing the tension all that much. when putting the plate in the bottom it really increased the tension. shift is nice and tight, no rattles, vibs or anything out of the ordinary..

Good to know. I have not modified the '07 and later compensator, just the early ones by adding a spring. It worked well on the early models as well, just a different spring configuration.
